I was born and raised mostly in Huntsville. My family spent a few years running a farm in Emsdale and then later owned a cottage on Three Mile Lake in Katrine. We mostly lived in town and spent the longest stretch at one home on Hunters Bay…I grew to love Lake Vernon and often boated the area with my friends growing up.
I decided to leave Muskoka behind and venture into a “big” city for college. I attended Cambrian College in Sudbury for 2 years and received my diploma from their Advertising program. While I enjoyed college it certainly made me appreciate my hometown and I quickly realized my future would have to be living and working in Muskoka.
I have always had a love for architecture and interior design. Over the years I watched my Great Uncle, 2 cousins and my own Father have success in the real estate business and it also had a draw for me. It seemed the obvious choice after school incorporating my love of homes, design, marketing, and helping people. I love that everyday my job is different and that many times it doesn’t feel like “work” at all. I feel very lucky to work with such amazing colleagues and clients all year long.
I started out doing administration work in a real estate office but soon needed to be more involved in the selling process and acquired my real estate licence in 2002. I started working with my Father at first and then branched off on my own. I spent about 5 years drifting back and forth between the business and home life raising kids. I started with Coldwell Banker Thompson Real Estate Brokerage in 2010 because I had always respected their values and wanted a fresh youthful outlook on the business. They have not disappointed. I owe a lot of my success to my support group both at the office and at home.
Now my husband and I are raising our 3 children right in Huntsville. I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.
